Identity and the Shelf

This work seeks to examine the effects of display on the inherent meaning of objects.
The decision to display an object robs it of its original meaning, rendering that object obsolete. An object’s meaning is easily denuded or distorted, so the display of objects is therefore futile.
As a result, the conscious action of display itself becomes significant; the action of display becomes
the cherished object.
