Bowerbird

_MG_9551_edited.jpg

This work was developed specifically for The performance Caravan, a night of living sculpture curated by Amanda Coogan. Mimicking the bowerbirds  courtship rituals. All male bowerbirds build bowers, which can be simple ground clearings or elaborate structures, to attract female mates. The bowers are decorated with colourful objects such as green moss, red berries, or silver snail shells. This experimental performance was an attempt to draw parallels with the human obsession with collections and rituals by creating my own bower of broken vases.
